I have recently bought a new PC laptop (MSI Stealth GS70) and have encountered issues when trying to install software and applications I need to apply for school. Several of the installation processes are halted and an error bulletin appears mostly saying "A restart of the operating organization is currently pending. You must restart the organization before continuing." Even so I have restarted the laptop several times and the error however comes up.

I thought the Windows Update might have been the source of the fault as there was one failed update. However any attempts to reinstall the update results in the update requiring a restart, but never really finishes installing when I restart the laptop. No error message comes up. Information technology simply goes through the restart process and going to Windows Update shows the update withal requiring a restart. I have uninstalled it and left the Windows Update in a state where information technology hasn't checked for updates then information technology isn't asking for whatsoever restarts. Even so I still receive the restart fault when trying to download the aforementioned software again. So I'm not certain if it'due south a split or relevant problem, but the update I'm having problem with is kb3147458.

The Hardware and Devices troubleshooter only finds that the PC must be restarted to finish installing drivers and updates. Only I have restarted the laptop several times and the result is all the same found by the troubleshooter. I'thousand non sure what updates the PC is waiting on, if any.

Since it came upwards often in my search in trying to solve this problem, the PC isn't restarting itself over and over in a loop. It just keeps requiring me to restart the PC before it can install whatsoever other software but so doesn't actually install anything and keeps bringing the message upward.

Thank you, any help would exist appreciated.

I tried your suggestion concerning adding a new user, but no change. I would have thought that the windows update troubleshooter would have identified and/or corrected, simply it doesn't. I too ran sfc check but practice problems found

I have recently installed Adata SU800 solid state drives in two unlike computers in order to replace failing spinny drives.  Completely fresh install from a standalone Windows x 1703 installer, and then information technology is absolutely fresh.  Everything operates perfectly.  About.  Twice at present in two different systems, nosotros take encountered the issue where the computer volition non become to slumber completely or shut down completely, and in this instance, information technology also seems to tie into the fact that the October Cumulative security update said it was installing every bit the computer began to shut downwards when nosotros restarted the reckoner, but since then is not completing the install upon restart and shows that a restart is required in guild to consummate the installation.

Many posts pointed at the fact that the Intel Management Engine Interface version 11 was not supported in the creators update and that we needed to go dorsum to an older version of it so block the reinstall using wushowhide.diagcab.  I did detect a version 10 of this IMEI and replaced the newer version, to no avail.

This is frustrating.  Information technology is a 2d Gen core i3 Gateway tower that was running Windows 10 just fine but started bluish screening and required a system restore in guild to restart properly.  I don't know why, perhaps because information technology was installing the latest 1703 update.  We had some other client with 2 unlike Windows x 1607 machines that failed in the heart of the 1703 update and left the main partition equally "raw" and only readable for data recovery by something like EaseUS Data Recovery.

Anyone have suggestions?  I'm not getting paid by my customer or Microsoft to troubleshoot this effect.  :o(
